Idea for Marshmallow brought to Poland before World War II by Jan Wedel - after his visit to the exhibition in France. Thanks to foreign inspiration, he managed to create vanilla-flavored milk foam covered with the famous dessert chocolate. The official history of the company also associates the name of these sweets with Jan Wedel's trip to France. It is said that he asked himself: "What could bring greater happiness to a man who already has everything?” The answer was: “Maybe just milk for the birds„.
Jan Wedel patented the names "Ptasie Mleko" and "Ptasie Mleczko" at the Patent Office. Unfortunately, the protection for this name expired in 1956 because the Polish government did not consider it necessary to extend it. What's more, this unique recipe went to the Soviet Union in those years, where you can find Pticche moloko with a taste reminiscent of Polish Ptasie Mleczko. With the economic changes in Poland, Wedel managed to regain the rights to the name. That's why in stores we can find many similar, but not identical, names - for example the most popular "Alpejskie Mleczko".
