To make real dumpling dough, you don't need many ingredients, although there are different proportions and different base products. Some people add eggs to the mixture, and still others believe that the best cake is made without eggs. The latter claim that the protein makes the dough hard over time. If the dough falls apart during cooking, the problem may be that the dough is too thin or there is not enough flour in the dough. However, if they do not want to stick together, it is quite possible that they are too floury - then you should moisten the edges of the dumpling with water.

We most often use white flour type 500-550 for dumplings, but you can try mixing it with a higher type of flour, for example with the addition of spelled flour. But apart from the dough itself, the filling is also important. We can put almost anything in the dumpling dough. Depending on your preferences, you can add fruit, mushrooms, meat, cheese or vegetables.

Recipe for dumpling dough:

Ingredients:

  • 2-2.5 cups of flour
  • a large pinch of salt
  • 1 cup of very warm water or milk

A method of preparing:

Place the flour in a bowl. Add salt, then gradually add water or milk, mixing with a spoon. Then transfer the dough to the board and knead for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
