BIO is a noticeable trend that attracts many customers. Every day, more and more products with the BIO symbol appear on store shelves. What are the differences between organic food and non-organic food?
Organic food (BIO) has more antioxidants that help you stay young and vital longer. These foods also have lower levels of toxic metals and pesticides. Moreover, during its cultivation, mineral fertilizers, hormones, genetically modified organisms and other substances that destroy the environment cannot be used.
In the case of agricultural products, BIO meansthat the product has been grown in accordance with the provisions of the EU regulation on organic farming. In the case of processed foods, the BIO label meansthat at least 95% of agricultural ingredients come from organic farming. The use of this label on genetically modified food products is prohibited. The regulations also prohibit the labeling of products with multiple E's or stabilizers.
Organic food is easy to recognize thanks to its characteristic logo. The source for the creation of this logo were two well-known symbols. The first is the European flag - the official symbol of Europe. The second one is a leaf symbolizing nature and sustainable development. The combination of these two symbols creates a unique logo for organic products in the EU.
One of the Polish companies - OSM Piątnica - decided to introduce a new line of BIO products to the market a few months ago. OSM Piątnica's offer includes:
• Organic cottage cheese – it is produced from organic milk. Natural, without preservatives and other additives, it consists of delicate cottage cheese grains immersed in sweet cream.
• Cream 18% Organic – Thick Cream 18% Bio is produced exclusively from pasteurized Bio cream and live cultures of lactic bacteria. It will perfectly highlight the taste of traditional Polish soups, sauces and salads.
• Organic cottage cheese – Completely natural – contains only pasteurized milk and live cultures of lactic acid bacteria. Produced from milk from certified organic farms.
• Organic organic milk – Organic milk comes from certified organic farms that run traditional pasture-based cow breeding. The cows are fed with natural feed produced primarily on their own farm. They graze on pastures where artificial fertilizers or synthetic plant protection products cannot be used.
